POST BASIC B.Sc. NURSING

Post Basic B.Sc. nursing is programme that’s been fashioned to impart an understanding of advanced nursing. The course gives an opportunity to the candidates to brush up their medical skills including both surgical and nonsurgical. A candidate seeking admission to post basic B.Sc. course should have passed 10+2 and General nursing and midwifery from INC recognized institution with minimum 50% marks the aggregates. 

Duration of course

The post basic B.Sc. nursing shall be 2 years course.

Eligibility criteria 

  • Candidate should have passed General Nursing & Midwifery from INC recognized institution. 
  • Candidate should be registered as RN/ RM with State Nurses Registration Council. A male nurse trained before the implementation of the new integrated course besides being registered as a nurse with State Nurses Registration Council shall produce evidence of training approved by Indian Nursing Council for a similar duration in lieu of midwifery in any one of the following areas:

OT Technologies, Ophthalmic Nursing, Leprosy Nursing, TB Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Neurological and Neuro Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Cancer Nursing & Orthopedic nursing.

  • Candidate shall be medically fit.

Selection process

The selection process of the candidate will be based on individual’s performances in the qualifying examination of G.N.M. Nursing. 

Further the candidate will be screened through personal interview and document verification. Candidate needs to be medically fit. The design of the selection/admission committee shall be final.
